Bill Black, Co-Director
Bill is a Georgia native who has found a home in the mountains of east Tennessee. He has served as Co-Director of SMRM since 1981. He has degrees from Emory University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has twice been national president of the Association of Resort and Leisure Ministers. Bill loves mountains and can be found skiing, hiking, climbing, or biking on them at every opportunity.

Cindy Black, Co-Director
Cindy is from Dublin, Georgia and has served as Co-Director of SMRM since 1981. She is a 1977 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Home Economics. She is former manager of The Magnolia Tea Room and The Wild Plum Tea Room in Gatlinburg and is famous for her delicious soups and desserts. Her cookbook, All My Best Recipes, is distributed throughout the Southeast and her recipes have been featured in Southern Living. One of her newest adventures is teaching cooking/prayer classes in her home for area women. She is an expert skier and loves to walk

Joey Buck
Joey Buck received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University and completed his Masters at Southwestern Theological Seminary in December of 2009. Prior to going back to school, Joey served for two years as a Southern Baptist Missionary in Jackson, Wyoming with Teton Resort Ministries. For more than 5 years Joey has served on staff with a youth leadership program, Leadership Is For Everyone! (LIFE!). Joey enjoys hiking, biking, camping in the great outdoors, spending time with his son, Hayden, and wife, Katy.

Katy Buck
Katy received her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has served as a Personal Trainer & Wellness Coach for YMCA as well as taught junior high PE and coached girls' athletics. She is currently a stay at home mom to son, Hayden. Since 2003 Katy has been a part of the LIFE! staff , teaching high school students leadership principles. Katy enjoys running, walking, playing basketball, and being with her family.
